Science Fair Proposal

1.) If a person can bench press at least 50lbs, then they will escape a jujitsu grappling hold in 5 seconds on average.
2.) Dependent (Produced): Amount of time it takes to escape a
type of jujitsu hold Independent(Manipulated): strength of volunteers (ability to bench press a certain mass)
Control: the type of hold, the person executing the hold, males (ages 15-25)
3.) This experiment pertains to my EQ because to be a successful jiu-jitsu practitioner you need training. In jiu-jitsu there are a lot of different grappling techniques.
4.) I will first test which jujitsu hold is the most effective.  Then, I will test the volunteer's strength by using a simple bench press exercise, perform the best jujitsu hold on them, and time how long it takes them to escape the hold.  I will then graph the data to find a relationship between upper body strength and time it takes to escape the hold, and research WHY I obtained specific results in the experiment.
5.)
